Change the text of Windows XP start buttton |

Step 1: Download Resource Hacker and run the program. It does not require you to install anything. Step 2: Run the Resource Hacker program and click on FILE then select open. Step 3: Navigate to C:\Windows\Explorer.exe and click open. Step 4: Now that explorer.exe is open through resource hacker click on String Table, then 37 then 1033. Step 5: Now where you see START change it to anything you want. Step 6: After you change the text press Compile near the top of the window. Then click File SAVE AS and name it explorerfix.exe and save it. Step 7: Press CRTL, ALT, DELETE and enter task manager. Click on processes and find the process explorer.exe then click End Task. Step 8: Under task manager click File then Run and type explorerfix.exe then click OK. Step 9: This step tells windows to start the new explorerfix.exe file to start when windows boots. Click Start Go to RUN and type REGEDIT. Step 10: Click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE, then MICROSOFT, then WINDOWS NT, then CURRENT VERSION, then WINLOGON. Step 11: Now on the right pane look for SHELL and right click it then select MODIFY. Step 12: Now replace explorer.exe with explorerfix.exe and click OK Now you are finished every time your computer turns on it will load your custom start bar by default.
