How to set your computer to turn on at a certain time and shut off at a certain time.  This helps cut down on the electric bill and it’s always ready for you when you need it. This works great for businesses that have a open and close time.  
You can even set your computer to replace your alarm clock and have it play anything you want when it turns on. The best part is there is no snooze button to hit.
Here is Step by Step instructions on how to turn your computer on automatically, Shut your computer off automatically, and make your computer play any song that you want when it starts up. 
This is quick and easy to set up and it works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, & Windows 7. This will help lower your power bill and your computer will be ready for you when you need it.

Text Box: Steps to set your computer to turn ON everyday at anytime you want.
When you turn your computer you want to access SETUP or BIOS. To do this you will need to press F2, ESC, or DEL to enter it. 
Once you are in setup navigate to (Power Management) Once here go to
And set it to enabled. 
Now modify the time you want it to turn on. 
Leave the date set to 0 and set the time to what you want your to turn on automatically. 
When your finished press F10 to save changes and exit.  Now your computer is set to turn on everyday this time. 

Steps to make your computer turn OFF everyday at anytime you want.
Go to START then PROGRAMS and right click STARTUP and select OPEN
Right click the background and select new text document.
Inside notepad type: 
 CD\
Shutdown -S  -F  -T 28800
Save the file as shutdown.bat
28800 is number of seconds to shutdown (8 hours)
This command will shut OFF the computer exactly 8 hours of being turned ON and force any applications that hang to close.
You can change the shutdown time to any number

3600 = 1 hour

7200 = 2 hours

10800 =3 hours

14400 = 4 hours

18000 = 5 hours

21600 = 6 hours

25200 = 7 hours

28800 = 8 hours

32400 = 9 hours

36000 = 10 hours

39600 = 11 hours

43200 = 12 hours

46800 = 13 hours

50400 = 14 hours

54000 = 15 hours

57600 = 16 hours

61200 = 17 hours

64800 = 18 hours

68400 = 19 hours

72000 = 20 hours

Close the Startup folder and your done.

Now every time your computer turns on automatically the shutdown command  is delayed 8 hours. After this time expires the computer will turn off.

If at any time you want to stop the shutdown simply go to

START then RUN and type SHUTDOWN –A

Or you create a stop file on the desktop.

Right click the desktop and select new text document and type:

CD\

Shutdown –a

Save file as Continue Working.bat

Now at any time you want to stop the shutdown just click Continue Working.bat

This will force the shutdown to close and you can manually shut the computer down later when you need to.

 

Steps to make your computer into a custom alarm clock

Have your computer play any song you want when it starts up automatically at 6:00am every morning.

Go to START then PROGRAMS and right click STARTUP and select OPEN

Copy and paste any song you want into this folder.

Now when your computer starts up automatically in the morning it plays your choice of music.  Just be sure to keep your speakers turned up.
